Overview
When I decided to do a review on ClickBank University, I was somewhat confused when I saw the name ClickBank mentioned several times throughout their site. After some research, I found ClickBank was created first in 1998 and then in 2013, ClickBank created ClickBank University.
The review I am doing here is on ClickBank University and ClickBank since they are so closely intertwined together!
What is ClickBank?
ClickBank is an affiliate marketing network. They have over 17 years of network experience and claim to be a leader in global e-commerce. They establish relationships and opportunities for people (merchants/creators) who want to turn their passion product(s) into something profitable by partnering with affiliate marketers. The affiliate marketers then promote their products to consumers without carrying any inventory.
Some of the services ClickBank provides to merchants are to:
- Look after the front and back end of their businesses.
- Help promote their products globally.
- Help set up and look after commissions and payouts to affiliates.
They offer 22 categories ranging from arts and entertainment, cooking, food, wine, sports,
travel etc.
Their affiliate marketers can browse in ClickBank and search for products, niches and read up on what the merchant has to offer (‘Vendor’s Pitch’. The merchant and the interested affiliate are then connected and screened by the merchant.
Some of the services provided to the affiliate marketers are:
- Commissions are paid on time and you can choose to get paid as often as every week through their multiple payment options.
- Earning commissions as high as 75%.
- Choosing from ‘tens of thousands’ of digital products to promote.
- Getting a recurring commission on returning customers and as long as they continue their subscription.
- Having the choice to promote automatic upsell offers to their customers.
- Going into joint venture programs with other Clickbank partners and share earnings.
- Getting stats to show how much affiliates can earn.
- Getting a guide on how to get started
- Getting the basics of being a ClickBank affiliate and how to get paid as an affiliate
- An article showing how earnings are calculated
What is ClickBank University?
ClickBank University is an all-inclusive online education training platform. They teach you how to build an online business and claim to be risk-free and that you can cancel any time.
When you first go into Clickbank University site, you have two choices… you can watch a video headlined ‘2015 Update: 1,000 Millionaires Made’ that turns on automatically or you can stop it and click into ‘University Access’.
This video shows pictures and talks of people who have become millionaires.
When you click on ‘University Access’, it takes you to Clickbank University with ‘Billing’ information. This is where they want you to enter your billing information and once you do that, you need to click in the box ‘I agree to the payment terms as stated above’.
I must admit this is something I’m not comfortable with as I’m used to actually seeing some sort of idea as what I would get before I pay. It gives me a very uncomfortable feeling and concern that I could possibly be scammed.
ClickBank Guarantee
In the same area of the Billing, ClickBank makes a statement that they will ‘allow for’ products to be returned or replaced within 60 days from the purchase date. They make reference to their return policy which is clickable.
Upon payment approval, that is your actual ticket entrance to get access to their products and services and see what goes on in ClickBank University. While they do call it ‘University’, you don’t get a title or certificate.
Pros
While neither ClickBank nor ClickBank University offer FREE trails, the following are likable and favored:
- Adam and Justin, the owners are active on the platform and have over 17 years of network experience.
- There are no charges in ClickBank.
- Discounts on yearly membership fees – ClickBank University.
- They tell students it takes hard work before they can see their results.
- Cancel any time.
- Offer 60-day products to be returned or replaced from purchase date.
- ClickBank’s Hoplink tracking system that allows 60 days for your prospective customer to purchase after clicking your link and give you credit for the sale
- Tools to increase conversions and get repeat sales
- Teach how to find products to promote
Cons
These are areas within the sites I felt were lacking and in need of improvements.
- Pay upfront before you see products and services
- No FREE trial period in ClickBank University
- No Live Chat
- No FREE websites
- No FREE web hosting
- Seems lacking in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) training
- No FREE Keyword searches
- Upsells are expensive
- Training needs to be improved. It seems to be very broad…they need to give examples, explain things better
- Some obvious low-quality products..merchants need to be screened more
- Feels like a conflict to have ClickBank and ClickBank University – competition
- Can only promote ClickBank products
Who is ClickBank and ClickBank University for?
- Product creators (merchants) who desire to turn their passions and expertise by putting them into salable products.
- Merchants who already have products they want to promote and earn additional income.
- Customers who are looking for information in the form of ebooks, memberships, software, instructional and coaching information.
- Affiliate marketers, people who are looking to promote the creators products without having to carry inventory.
- People looking to create extra income.
ClickBank Training / Tools Overview
- Designed as an eight-week course – students can still learn at their pace.
- Courses go from how to find a product (niche), training for the merchant and affiliates and to how to market the product online.
- Live weekly webinars on different topics put on by topic experts.
- Video tutorials that are easy to follow and allow students to follow at their own pace.
- Recorded webinars to watch and listen to.
- A community where students can converse with others and learn.
- Advanced Analytics – advanced reporting showing detailed data about your clicks and sales on your offers to improve your earnings.

My Final Opinion
ClickBank and ClickBank University are absolutely LEGIT! Down the road, it can be very expensive as you learn…over $1,000.00 if you want to get the full benefits. You can definitely earn income to supplement you while you are still working in your full-time employment. I think the merchants have much more to gain here and reap the benefits than an affiliate.
